'숯'은 희생과 생명의 키워드를 갖고 있다.
즉 생명의 상징인 나무는 죽음의 상징인 불을 만나 스스로를 희생하고, 숯으로 재탄생한다.
이는 적대적인(대비적인)것의 만남에 의한 새로운 생명이다.
그 생명은 또 다른 무언가를 만들기 위해, 작지만 강한 붉은 빛을 내며, 흑에서 백으로 다시 또 반전되어 변해간다.

공간으로서 무색(Musaek)은 숯 자체의 의미와 현상에 대한 전체적인 요소들을 닮아 갔으면 했다.
전반적인 무색의 공간은 마치 흑백 무성 영화의 공간에 들어와 있는 듯하다.

숯의 갈라짐을 러프한 마감으로 담아내고자 하였다.

서울 한복판의 시끄러운 소음과 복잡함이 이 공간에 들어오면서 사그라들길 바랐다.

그렇게 무색은 무겁고 적막이 흐르는 듯한 차분한 공간으로 만들어졌다.

차갑고 생명력을 잃은 듯한 숯의 공간에 작은 불씨를 통해 이 공간이 살아 있음을, 즉 생기를 느끼게 하고 싶었다.

숯의 갈라짐 속 빛, 그리고 붉은 사이니지를 통해 온기를 갖게 했다.
오픈 키친 형태의 작은 공간인 무색은, 바(Bar)를 중심에 구성해 공간의 사용자가 앉아서 전체 공간을 모두 볼 수 있도록 했다.

쉐프의 역동적인 요리 행위와, 웍 아래 불들이 공간을 한층 더 완성시킨다.

공간 내 가장 활발한 활동이 이루어지는 곳인 바 테이블은, 온전히 제 기능을 다하고 하얗게 불태워진 숯의 마지막을 표현하고자 하얗고 거친 석재를 사용했다.

다시 말해, 공간이 숯 그 자체이길 바랐다.

Charcoal has the keywords of sacrifice and life.
In other words, the tree, the symbol of life, meets fire, the symbol of death, sacrifices itself, and is reborn as charcoal.
This is a new life by the encounter of contrast.
The life turns from black to white again with a small but strong red light to make something else.

As a space, Musaek wanted to resemble the overall elements of the meaning and phenomenon of the charcoal itself.
The overall colorless space is as if it is in the space of a black and white silent film.

It was intended to capture the cracks of charcoal with a rough finish.

It was hoped that the noise and complexity of the center of Seoul would disappear as it entered the space.

Thus, Musaek was made into a calm space that was heavy and quiet.

We wanted to make this space feel alive through a small embers in the cold and lifeless charcoal space.

The light in the crack of charcoal and the red signage gave it warmth.
Musaek, a small space with an open kitchen, has a bar at the center so that users of the space can sit and see the entire space. The chef's dynamic cooking and the fires under the wok complete the space even more.

The bar table, the most active place in the space, was made of white rough stone to express the end of the white-burned charcoal.

In other words, we wanted this space to be charcoal itself.
